This stunning home, was designed by Australian award-winning architect Amelia Lee as a strong, striking form, accessed at the end of a secluded cul de sac, creating a private haven.
There are two pavilions, to separate living from sleeping areas. The living pavilion takes prominence as the higher, longer form, whilst the sleeping pavilion, hugs the land as a lower form. A connection zone between the two pavilions creates a threshold between the two, protecting an outdoor covered deck area.
The entry gallery hides the designer kitchen, to tuck away everyday family activities. A service core of mudroom and laundry link the kitchen, garage and entry. The large open plan and main living zone, is separated from a secondary living area with a prominent storage wall, yet the transparency at higher levels maintains a visual connection throughout the length of the pavilion, ensuring the home feels open and light.
The arrangement of the pavilions, acts as a compass, to direct views out into the expansive northern landscape. The design ensures the home is flooded with natural light and provides a strong indoor/outdoor connection from all zones.
In the five bedroom sleeping pavilion, the children's bedrooms are equally sized to prevent sibling arguments, and the large master suite is separated for privacy. There is also a central library/office/study zone and functional linen storage. The design of the family bathroom enables private use by multiple people at one time to help with busy mornings.
Dark and elegant, 'Riverglade' sits in its lush green native landscape as a strong silhouette. Designed to be low maintenance, fun and durable for everyday family life, this home provides a functional, feel-good, family environment to embrace all ages and lifestyles.
